GIVING SOMETHING BACK!

As an Alaskan resident and full time guide who relies entirely on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers for his sole income, I feel very strongly about giving something back to the resource that has treated me and my family so well.

The following is a partial list of the fishing organizations, projects, and functions that I have participated in during the last decade and a half.

1) Member of Trout Unlimited, Alaska Sport Fishing Association, Kenai River Sportfishing Association, Cook Inlet Professional Sportfishing Association, Kenai River Professional Guide Association.

2) Past board of Director and Sec./Treasure of KRPGA for 5 one year terms.

3) Three time chairman for KRPGA Christmas party and annual fundraiser.

4) Chairman for KRPGA 'Wanted: Illegal Guides' sign project.

5) Chairman for KRPGA 'Give Bank Anglers a Break' sign project.

6) Member Alaska State Parks 'Commercial Operator Committee.'

7) Repeated participant in 'Kenai River Clean-Up' project.

8) Repeated participant in KRPGA 'Take a Kid Fishing' day.

9) Repeated participant in KRPGA 'Trout Pond.'

10) Repeated participant in Alaska State Parks 'Teach a Kid to Fish' day.

11) Repeated participant in KRSA 'Release a Hog' catch and release program.

12) Repeated participant in KRSA 'Kenai River Classic' (an invitational tournament dedicated to the preservation of the Kenai River)

13) Guest speaker at Alaska State Parks 'Guide Orientations.'

14) Guest participant in Alaska Fish and Game 'Catch and Release' video.

15) Participant in five Alaska Board of Fish cycles (10-14 day state process which directs the Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game in management and regulatory ways.)

16) Recipient of KRPGA Master Guide Award (one of twelve Kenai River guides bestowed this highest honor by their peers.)
