GIVING SOMETHING BACK!
As an Alaskan resident and full time guide who
relies entirely on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers for
his sole income, I feel very strongly about giving
something back to the resource that has treated me
and my family so well.
The following is a partial list of the fishing
organizations, projects, and functions that I have
participated in during the last decade and a
half.
1) Member of Trout Unlimited, Alaska Sport
Fishing Association, Kenai River Sportfishing
Association, Cook Inlet Professional Sportfishing
Association, Kenai River Professional Guide
Association.
2) Past board of Director and Sec./Treasure of
KRPGA for 5 one year terms.
3) Three time chairman for KRPGA Christmas party
and annual fundraiser.
4) Chairman for KRPGA 'Wanted: Illegal Guides'
sign project.
5) Chairman for KRPGA 'Give Bank Anglers a
Break' sign project.
6) Member Alaska State Parks 'Commercial
Operator Committee.'
7) Repeated participant in 'Kenai River
Clean-Up' project.
8) Repeated participant in KRPGA 'Take a Kid
Fishing' day.
9) Repeated participant in KRPGA 'Trout
Pond.'
10) Repeated participant in Alaska State Parks
'Teach a Kid to Fish' day.
11) Repeated participant in KRSA 'Release a Hog'
catch and release program.
12) Repeated participant in KRSA 'Kenai River
Classic' (an invitational tournament dedicated to
the preservation of the Kenai River)
13) Guest speaker at Alaska State Parks 'Guide
Orientations.'
14) Guest participant in Alaska Fish and Game
'Catch and Release' video.
15) Participant in five Alaska Board of Fish
cycles (10-14 day state process which directs the
Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game in management and
regulatory ways.)
16) Recipient of KRPGA Master Guide Award (one
of twelve Kenai River guides bestowed this highest
honor by their peers.)
